Irresistible Rough Diamonds is one of five companies selected for the De Beers Enterprise Development Project
It brings me great pleasure to announce that Irresistible Rough Diamonds was selected as one of five South African entities for the De Beers Enterprise Development Project.
I am thrilled to have been selected for this amazing opportunity. It has been two years of working towards this and finally we are here. I am excited for the hard work ahead, the personal and business growth, and lastly for the epic journey we have embarked on.
The five companies that made the rigorous selection program conducted by Raizcorp are B&H Mining, Irresistible Rough Diamonds, Isabella Jewellers, Outclass Crystalized Gems and Sunrise Gem Stone. These five companies specialise in diamond cutting, precious metals refining and jewellery manufacturing.
This project, launched by De Beers in 2016, aims to facilitate the growth and transformation of diamond beneficiation in South Africa.
“Our aim is to assist with the growth and transformation of the diamond industry in South Africa. We are also extending our contribution to include jewellery manufacturers, thereby demonstrating our support for beneficiation throughout the value chain.
“For us, it is also about making sure that the companies we have appointed succeed in primarily having the competitive and very important entrepreneurial skills and those skills are provided by business incubating company Raizcorp,” says De Beers sightholder sales South Africa senior VP Peter Phemelo Moeti speaking at the launch of the program on the 6th October 2020.
Mr Moeti was pleased to have more women participating in the 2020 project intake. Of these companies, four have beneficiation licences, one has a jewellers permit and precious metals refining licence, two are wholly-owned by black women, with a total of three being women owned.
